I have always enjoyed working with my hands: from fixing buildings at summer camp in New Hampshire as a teenager to multi-million-dollar projects in The Berkshires as an adult, and everything in-between.

I have been a New Englander my entire life - grew up in RI, lived in VT - and I am proud to call the Berkshires my home since moving here in 2005. I raised my two children here, feel a part of this small-town community, started my own custom building company in 2007, and completely renovated four houses in West Stockbridge and Glendale for myself and my family outside of working for my clients.

As a Master Carpenter and Co-operator of Xanadu Build I get to enjoy the hands on approach we have for all our projects, whether building or designing towards our customers visions. I am excited about this company and the complimentary skills and years of experience that Jay and I have to build better, healthier, more creative spaces.

When I’m not working, I enjoy the beautiful Berkshire surroundings, hiking or XC skiing with my wife and dog, paddling, seeing or playing live music, alpine and backcountry skiing, woodworking, eating good food, etc.

Richard, aka The Dutch Carpenter, is a highly skilled, detail oriented, craftsperson with more than 30 years of experience. He spent 10 years running his own high end remodeling company in NYC, before settling into the Berkshires about 8 years ago. Richard is also our in-house tile installer with certifications from both premier tile backer companies Schluter and Wedi. He has also studied timber framing at Heartwood Timber Framing school in Western MA.

Richard enjoys spending time with his daughter, fine art, architecture, good food, the outdoors, tools, high end audio, and fast cars. He is an integral part of helping to keep morale high on the jobsite, always high energy and full of fun, laughter, and Dutch humor.

Tyson is a lifelong craftsperson with more than 20 years of experience. Tyson is a second generation carpenter who had the great opportunity to learn all aspects of woodworking and homebuilding from a young age. He worked with and directed crews of carpenters, as well as managed projects for a local high end home builder, and had a successful construction company of his own.

Tyson enjoys spending time with his four kids, his dog, hunting, dog training, hiking, tools and seafood. He is passionate about environmental conservation and building practices that support that passion. Tyson’s depth of knowledge and experience is a great asset to our team.
